Brenda Herrera is a Family Nurse Practitioner who joined Rocky Run Family Medicine in February
2015. She originally attained her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Marymount University and then graduated with her Masters from Georgetown University, both with honors. As an RN, she worked in family care and spent time working in a low-income community clinic specializing in HIV. Helping the underserved has
also always been a passion of hers. She spent time volunteering in the
Prince William and Arlington free clinics prior to furthering her passions by becoming a nurse practitioner.
She is married and has two
young boys. Her youngest Leo, was diagnosed with Autism, so she has experience navigating the healthcare system for a child with special
needs. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family. She is
also a Peruvian native and is fluent in Spanish.
